So what did you do to your GMC today?

Took GMCRVPARTS (Applied) three and a half months to get three fans in. Bolted right up, but not as much hand room as original fan, had to go between fan belts on right side of engine to install four bolts. $190 including shipping to Wyoming

Yesterday I got my cruise control to work. Today I switched out three transducers and road tested. One unit was bad, two units worked but the slow speed started under 15mph. In fact, one transducer actually kicks in at a stop and increases up to 20 mph.
The three I tested today the speedometer was reading 5-8 mph high according to my GPS unit up until it get to 55 miles per hour and reads close to the GPS readout. The transducer I tried yesterday would only engage above 50 mph but was close to speedometer reading but bounced under 25 miles an hour.
I have a GPS that shines MPH on windshield in front of driver.

On our last little trip to Sunshine Statesmen rally, I noticed a slight smell of antifreeze. I had been loosing about 1/2 pint of antifreeze every 500mi or so. Got a look at the water pump and it was leaking a little out of the weep hole. Yesterday with the help of best friend Paul Doane (tool master) we changed out the water pump on my Cad 500. Started at 8:30am and completed task by 12:30pm. Went faster than I thought.

I had seven cruise control transducers to check out. Three I could use and four will need a bit more work. I have a GPS that shins on the windshield. At slow speed 5 or 10 mph the speedo would register 5-10 mph over what GPS indicated. Speedo would be a close match at 50+ mph.
As a side note, when traveling down the road-testing different speed for the cruise control against a 40 mph wind the lid to my carrier blew off. I was debating before if I didn't want to remove the carrier. Now I know. Anybody in need of the bottom section of the large carrier?

Have you tried the HUD reflective window filters? They provide better contrast and remove the double-image often seen when using glass alone.

Removing tie rods, previous owner installed wrong inners. They would'nt adjust. The sleave would just go in and our following the threads. The alighnment was bad when i tried driving home. I was able to get it close to keep tires from scrubing. Located courect inner tie rods and setting up alighnment so I can install new wheels and tires.

That sounds like a BIG job!

My rebuilt power steering pump was leaking at the valve, part# 20 in maintenance manual.
Replaced Seal #21 (was undersized). added fluid and with front of coach up in the air started up engine and cycled front wheels side to side to remove all the air. So far so good.

Replaced positive house battery cable from a #6 wire to a 2.0 size cable.

I bought a Napa battery 20 months ago and it will drain down to 12.4 volts overnight. Took it to the Napa store I bought the battery at and without the receipt they would not honor the 24-month warranty. Counter person put it on charge for two hours and said it had a full charge.
I got home a couple of hours later and tested the battery and it was at 12.7 volts. Tested again this morning and it was at 12.4 volts (not even installed yet). Tomorrow I will load test the battery.

Installed block off plates and GM aluminum intake. Hope to have it running by the weekend. Worst part of this, is dealing with the a/c compressor. Dang that thing is heavy! Also replaced valve cover gaskets, which were leaking. Getting ready to install Digi-panel.

Yeah that compressor is a bear.

I have a bracket to temporarily support the a/c compressor, makes life a little easier.

We made a compressor hanger but not as nice as yours, it hooks over the floor and I use wire to hang it temporarily. We also made a cylinder head hanger that bolts to a couple center rocker bosses and holds the head at a good angle for R&R with the engine down in the hole.olds ac and head hangers.webp

I was able to replace the LP regulator today, as well as a couple of even smaller projects as well. One of those smaller projects was using well nuts to affix the top ladder mount. Thank you to whoever on this forum had the idea of using well nuts for the ladder. Can't remember which thread that was, or who suggested it. But it worked for me.

I'm curious how you used the well nuts on the ladder? Did you push them up through the interior? Thanks.
