LED or HID 7 inch headlamp ?

Forum Sharing ! this is what i have done. taking the Toyota headlite conversion ( 81110-60p70) with h4 bulbs. modified the OEM bucket to fit the dust cover. purchased led, h4 replacement bulbs from ebay.. opt h4 9003 led kit..144 watt 12 amps 7600 lumen per bulb at 6000k ,,although cheap under $30( I do not recommended them had to a lot of fussing to get the bulbs to be properly aligned and secure.. VERY IMPORTANT ).. but the Toyota assemblies are fine and the led bulbs do work. did have to trim the dust cover rubber to clear the led bulbs cooling fins.. i was a little concerned about 55 watt vs 144 watts cooking the Toyota wiring harness. .checking ... the relays are good for 22-30amps ( 40 %) and the fuse at 20 amp (60%). all new wiring harness using only the existing system to just signal the new relay to operate no load per say on OEM wiring. the driver side headlamp more expose than pass . made an additional dust cover from a plastic coffee container cut it to fit drills some vent holes and installed for added protection. ( not shown). any project like this need to be monitored over time and use to insure success..total headlite project under $100 ..looks good right now yours larry

These not only greatly improved the brightness and range of our old std. sealed beams but also included a small set of Daytime driving lights that our coach never had previously. As they are 100% LEDs they do not pull nearly as much power to provide the better illumination and I found them very easy to install and wire. I think the total bill was ~$180 for the kit. Well worth the outlay. They are most commonly marketed to Jeep owners due to the 7" round format.
