Shop at a different store. You can buy a "double flaring
tool"(basically a flaring tool with a set of double flare inserts) for
around $30. I haven't received it yet, but I ordered a Ridgid
345DL(cat. no. 23337) for $50 because I wanted a *good* one. I'll let
everyone know just how "good" it is after I use it.
The tubing you want is "Bundy" steel tubing and should be readily
available.

facilitate that. I have two transmodes that are not doing anything at
the moment and I could remove the lines and bring them to Classic in my
current coach so that they could see how they fit etc.. I would buy at
least 3 sets for all three coaches I have. Perhaps if we get two or
three more orders we can get a good price and have them become a regular
supplier.

I too am replacing brake lines. Just thought I would update where I am. Am
only in rear at this time so don't have whole story but can answer some of
the questions I've seen here.
I found a set of double flare dies for use with a standard flaring tool at
Car Quest. The total cost was about $7.00 for the 3/16 and 1/4 sizes. It's
a two step flaring process but I haven't actually done it yet.
The lines from the rear hubs to the rubber hose measure about 3/16 x 24".
NAPA has 20" and 30" so I bought 30" and will cut them down to size so I
don't have excess weight to vibrate. Their recomendation was to just use
them as is and not worry about the excess.
The rubber 'T' hose going to each wheel is not available so I had to
substitute by purchasing a pair of 1/4" brakeline T's and four hoses to go
from the T's to the wheels. The NAPA part number on the bill for thr T's is
#702 x 4. They cost $2.64 each. The NAPA part number for the hoses is
#36827 and the cost is $22.53 each. The total assembly looks like the
original except it comes out about two inches longer. The 'T' blocks didn't
have the thru hole for mounting so I soldered a piece of copper tubing to it
for a mount. If this happens not to hold it will only cause a rattle. This
took them quite a lot of searching to match the combination so I didn't want
to press my luck by insisting on a T with a thru hole.
The run from the front to the rear is quite a lot longer than available
standard lengths so I purchased a 25' roll of 1/4" from NAPA. (About $17 +
connectors) This should be enough for the front also.
I'll also replace the front hoses and this should give me more confidence in
the system.
I hope what I've learned is of some help to someone.

just received the information from classic tubes. They have all of the
original OEM specs for the GMC motorhome and have sets in stock from a
previous customer that went out of business. The set consists of all lines
from the master cylinder to the brakes including al fittings other than
flexible hoses. Price for 1 set is $295. Committed to price of $250 for 10
sets at this time. Willing to negotiate if quantity is greater. Now is the

I am defintely interested in a set for my current coach and would be
interested in two more sets for my other transmodes if the price was in
the 250 or less range. Do they have or could they make up the rubber
hoses in the new teflon stainless arrangement? I may go visit them next
week if you think that would be prudent. I think we could come up with
something close to ten sets. I wonder if the customer was CLASCO?

marcus if you are close visit them to see one of the sets, but don't think
it wise to make a committment at this time until we see how many are
interested. Large order will give us lots of leverage. I will contact other
GMC clubs tonight and stir up the interest, and see if we can get the price
down below $200. I know we can do it maybe even less. Lets stay in contact.
I belong to the GMC heritage Cruisers and most of them are at the air show
in Batavia NY. Will try and contact them.
