You need to do as Todd says and really reed on the steering wheel while turning the key.
Removing the steering wheel will not help.

No. It won’t be dangerous now. The catalyst is used up in the polymerization process with no residual left — especially after 50 years.

As John says it was a major safety hazard. It is a polyurethane paint that=
uses a isocyanate catalyst. The is a cyanide compound that is very toxic.=

On what do you base your comment regarding lubricity of the three fluids?
Have you checked the BOTD or HFRR or SL BOCLE tests for diesel, kerosene and ATF?

Diesel fuel is kerosene. About any service station sells it for probably under $3.00 / gallon.

How many people are typically in a class?
Perhaps you could use someone’s large SOB for it.

I’ve often wondered why people use transmission fluid for this. Transmission fluid is a kerosene base stock with corrosion inhibitors, rubber swell additives, and anti-foam additives.
The additives are not needed for a penetrating application so why not use a kerosene / acetone mixture. Much...
Is the floor wood or metal?Get a hole saw with a 3” blade. The pilot drill in the center should be adjustable.
Adjust it so it just sticks out perhaps a quarter inch and start the hole. Once the blade is started it doesn’t need the center bit so back it off more.
This should alllow you to cut...
If it’s backing up into the shower pan your holding tank must be full.
You should check your drain valve. It probably is broken so that when you pull the rod to drain the slide valve isn’t opening.
Or something is clogging the drain exit.
Perhaps someone has been dropping “wet naps” into the...

I already sent all that information to Rob and also offered to purchase it for him.

When I did a search for Rob I saw the Amazon one but it is essentially the same as the RuralKing one except for the price.
Amazon is $119.95 with free shipping while Rural King is $69.99 plus shipping. If you buy $99 from Rural King you get free shipping.

If you wire the two leads to the heater from the two side terminals of the 4 prong plug you will get 240 volts that is needed.
I would just put a 240 volt breaker into the electrical box (30 amp should be enough) and mount another outlet near where you’ll mount the heater. Or, you can mount a...
I bought one 3 years ago and paid about $150. Here is one I found for only $70. It looks similar.
https://www.ruralking.com/heater-240v-garage-wlmnt-5000w.html
Do you mean to say that you have a 240 volt 50 amp?
I don’t think you can pull 50 amps from 120 volt.

I would think so. 17,000 BTU
is equivalent to 5000 watts.
The little electric heaters some use in their motor homes are usually 1500 watts and draw about 12 to 13 amp at 120 volts.
I use a 5000 watt electric heater in my workshop in the winter here in Colorado and I have to keep shutting it...

That is likely not the right one. It should have two wires. One for the brake and one for the tail light. The turn signal works off the brake filament.
The 1985 is a newer one with the separate turn signal.
Unless that third wire is connected to the shell as a ground.

I just spoke to George Baxter and he told me that Carol passed away Sunday morning.
She will be very missed by GMCMI members. Carol was President of the club from 2011 to 2012.
I have no details on her funeral services. Her children are with George in Vashon Island, WA (suburb of Seattle)...
I had new tires installed by a Discount Tire dealer a few years back on my GMC. On the way home I felt a vibration on the front and pulled over and found the right front tire loose and wobbling. I tighten the nuts and
I turned around and went back to the dealer. They found that none of the...
Yes the zerk fitting hole can be drilled in place but the axle and bearing has to be out. Jim Kanomata has a jig available that works great. You just need a 6” long 1/8” drill bit. You also have to cut grooves in the bearing spacer with a Dremel tool.
Then tap threads into the outside hole and...
