Had a similar experience on both counts for the fresh water tank. Sensor was
inoperative. Took it off, cleaned and greased the shaft with silicone grease
inside the rubber sleeve and put back on. Not confident it'll be a long term
solution, but works for now. As for the leak, I had two small cracks develop
running either way from the level sensor opening along the mold seam. Repaired
with Plumbers Goop and a layer of vinyl patch material. Important to let the
first coat of Goop get nearly dry before re-Gooping and adding the vinyl layer
(as flat and smooth as possible) plus a couple more coats of Goop. Let each coat
dry fairly well before adding the next coat or it will take a long time to cure
through. The Goop was the only adhesive that I found that seems to adhere to the
tank plastic reasonably firmly (I tried several others first).
