I think at this point the question is: Has anyone one who had their order cancelled charged for the product. Have you checked your Paypal account or
credit card account for charges? Also, what is to stop this questionable retailer from charging you in a week or two when you are not watching
closely?

A couple of things that bother me at this point are:

1. The several different excuses given at the time of cancellation.
1a. Bad address
1b. Wrong item advertised
1c. We do not even sell that item
1d. Pricing error

2. Some people that have received shipments, but did not receive the item that was advertised, while the seller is still advertising / selling the
same item online at a 300+ % price increase.

This stinks of a bait and switch scenario or fraudulent sales program that may still be going on.

You're dealing with them through Amazon, so you've got nothing to worried about. They have to give you a refund in order to cancel the order on their
end, that's how it works (I sell a lot on Amazon)

Also just as an aside, I think it's pretty crappy to jump on a deal that you know is too good to be true, and then try to screw the seller over and
force them into sending you something. They will lose well over $100 per transaction if they honor the price. I have fantastic pricing with viair (the
best they offer) and once the seller covers shipping on those they will be at over 100 lost per order. Judging by how many people just on this tiny
forum jumped on the deal I don't care to imagine the $hitstorm they are facing right now. Sure they accidentally listed it with the wrong item number,
that sucks (and someone likely lost their job) but you knew that when you ordered it didn't you?

Not directed at anyone in particular, just something to consider from the other side of the fence.

products at huge discounts that are deals too good to be true. I have bought many things off amazon for pennies on the dollar.

I searched up and down that listing, and the deal seemed legit. the % discount showed off of an original $249 price, Part numbers matched, they
had multiple Q/A that matched the item, and after purchase reviews. My invoice from amazon, still has the correct Viair part numbers, description,
ect... showing the $249 compressor priced at $87. listing said 3 in stock, maybe the needed to clear them out? I don't know.

There system should of caught it, and corrected it before any wrong part was shipped. Something should of flagged and seen that the part number on
the order/invoice/amazon listing, did not match the part number on the box. I do not feel sorry for that vender. they had 2 business days, and
weekend to fix it. I figured they would catch it before shipping the wrong item.

anyway, ups will be picking up there package today on the return. no worried about myself loosing money, but i am guessing that company did have
to pay some shipping cost for the wrong items they sent out. from what I see here, probably only the 3-4 that they actually had in stock of the
item that somehow(still do not see how it got to be wrong).

If applied made this mistake one of us would have called to make sure it was the right price ,4wheel whatever is really not a Gmc vendor , you can tell by their actions

I agree 100%.

The buyer(s) in this situation did nothing wrong - other than to order what appeared to be an incredible deal! The seller made all the mistakes and should bite the bullet and make it right…

Over the last 20+ years, I've bought *many* things way below cost, that were heavily discounted for one reason or another. If the offer to sell was made in error - good sellers will honour the deal for any buyers that had payment accepted. It's one of the costs of doing business.

I agree exactly what Jon said. Sure it seemed too good to be true but I looked at the listing very carefully as well and couldn't find anything
suspicious with the listing. It seemed to be legitimate and a great deal that sometimes you do find I Amazon. So I took the chance knowing I had
nothing to lose becauses I know Amazon will provide me a refund if requested. Regarding the vendor, they should have canceled my order but instead
they continued with making mistakes and sent me something I didn't order. Not sure what they were thinking there, now they have to deal with the
return costing them even more.

If that is how you think.,...wow...good luck doing business. What ever happened to "the customer is always right". In this instance the provider of the product is trying to screw the customer around. All the provider had to do was apologize and offer a future discount or a small token of SORRY.....

Have found many super deals on Amazon...had no problems even when the price seemed too good to be true. So this deal also seemed to good to be true,
but quickly after it was reported on the GMCnet, the price went back to a more normal value for the product and I said to myself "they found their
mistake and corrected it so never mind that 'super deal'". About an hour later I was checking the forum and went to the same link again at suggestion
from wife. Lo and behold the price was back to $87...so I figured that since they changed the price back it must really be a super deal on a close out
or refurb or last year's model or whatever, so I quickly ordered it since there were only "4 left in stock". Immediately after ordering it, a fresh
visit to the item indicated "only 3 left in stock" and got the purchase confirmation in email from Amazon. Sure seemed like a legit deal, and the
price remained at that level for the next day or so, but the bruhaha had started on the forum by then so doubts were growing. It was still several
days before an email from the vendor requested I cancel the order. I didn't cancel it, calling their bluff. Still 2-3 more days until Amazon cancelled
the order and refunded the credit card charge. Amazon credit card, not a big deal, and in fact $85 of the price was a gift card balance that was
credited back to my account.

So the downside of the whole experience for me is that I no longer have faith in any of the "super deals" that I or others find on Amazon, and
probably won't trust any prices or delivery dates when looking for items for my customers. I can't have any clients waiting for parts that don't show
or are suddenly 3 times the price I quoted them. Fool me once... :?

Fair enough. But they pressed on with an incorrect price after they must
have known it was an issue. I came to this thread days after it started,
and availability had already dried up and then been replenished a couple of
times.

Those who were sent the wrong items, and those who were canceled because of
"address problems", represent less-than-honest attempts to resolve the
problem. An apology and some compensation would be a more appropriate way
to re-establish good faith, along with due diligence in taking down the
listing as soon as they knew (or should have known) of the problem. If they
put up listings and then bolt for the weekend, they don't give themselves
an opportunity to correct errors for several days, and this is what
happens. It is not the buyer's fault, and there is no obligation (or
mechanism) for a buyer using a system like Amazon to ask if a good price
really is correct.

With me, they asked for a cancellation due to a pricing error, but the
cancellation process was aimed at buyer-initiated cancellations. I didn't
really appreciate the suggestion that it was my fault, to be honest. And I
don't like that my buyer profile shows that I canceled an order.

I just don't understand why everyone is jumping to the conclusion that the seller is "trying to screw the customer around".
Seems to me like they made a listing mistake, probably some new employee that doesn't quite know how to work amazon yet. (it's easy to do)
They have been on amazon a long time and have good reviews and good stats.

The customer is always right....unless you've got an employee that made a simple mistake and you are now out tens of thousands of dollars. Then you
have to cover your ass, apologize for the mistake and give everyone a refund. No harm no foul.
Seems to me that if you aren't willing to accept that as a mistake and say "well darn, i wish I got the compressor for 87 bucks, but oh well" then
you're the one doing the screwing not the other way around.

There's no such thing as a free lunch. If you're getting if for free that means someone else paid for it.

As far as a I can tell there's now way to review or report this seller so it's no surprise that their rating is still 98% despite the shady business practices. I'm with everyone else a prompt "oops" & we're sorry and I would be happy, but I also received no communication what so ever from the company. Actually my Amazon account still shows the compressor being shipped.....

The issue isn't the mistake, it's the handling. Some people were cancelled
due to an "address error". Others (including me) were instructed to cancel
the order themselves. Still others received something much different than
what was described (which is, in fact, a fraud). The $87 price was
available, then it wasn't, then it was, etc. Once they knew they had
screwed up, they didn't come clean nor did they handle the issue
consistently.

You make a good point, however, whose fault is the inconsistency in communication and follow-up actions?

I received my response directly from Amazon not 4Wheels Online. Therefore from where I sit it seems to me for the most part Amazon
is to blame, not 4Wheels Online.

The issue isn't the mistake, it's the handling. Some people were cancelled
due to an "address error". Others (including me) were instructed to cancel
the order themselves. Still others received something much different than
what was described (which is, in fact, a fraud). The $87 price was
available, then it wasn't, then it was, etc. Once they knew they had
screwed up, they didn't come clean nor did they handle the issue
consistently.

Thought I would post this to show deals similar to this on Amazon are usually legit and is why myself and others did not think the Viair deal was too
good to be true.

Awhile back someone posted that they bought a cot and extended the legs on it so that it fit across the cockpit seats. I need extra sleeping space
and it looked like a good idea. The cot normally costs about $100 even on Amazon. Yesterday, I saw it on Amazon for $35.02. It has been shipped and
should be here tomorrow.

In the interest of thread drift, it would be even better to add a removable steering wheel so whoever is sleeping there doesn't keep bumping into it,

Last Saturday I bought locally four 30 watt LED work lamps for $30.00 each. I checked ebay, Aliexpress and Banggod ahead of time and could not find
anything close to this price.

After I got them home I was on Amazon for something else and found them from a US seller for $5.10 each without the table base which I do not need. I
have 8 of them coming USPS from the Peoples Republic of California for $40.80. They should be here Saturday. I returned the original 4 and got a
refund of $128.00 (including sales tax).

Amazon occasionally has some very good deals.

My Visa statement arrived today. Mine was one of the earliest orders for
the $87.14 Viair "bargain". It was processed by Amazon to the extent of
billing Visa and notifying me of shipment. Later I got a single notice
that the vendor was unable to fill the order and that my payment would be
refunded. Today's statement reflects both the charge and the refund. I
got no other notice from either Amazon or the vendor. Since both events
occurred during the same billing period, there was no question of interest
charge collection/refund (a moot point, since I would have already paid the
balance due anyway).

So, it all worked out, and I'm not really upset. They made a simple
mistake and probably didn't handle the responses to everyone as
diplomatically as possible, but I think it was all honest.
