I was at a Colonial Travelers GMC rally this past weekend, and a good point
was brought up on towing. I thought it might be useful to share here.
Many towing companies and insurance policies agree to tow to the nearest
repair shop that is capable. However, for the towing company this usually
translates to the nearest GM dealership. Obviously this will not help us
GMCers.
The idea put forward is to call ahead to the dealership to which they
propose to tow. Typically the dealership does not want the motorhome, and
then you have the argument for that shop not being capable. From this you
have a better chance of making the argument to take you where you know to be
a capable repair shop.
A good idea to remember.
