Towing Gearing

Grant:
I suggest you call or e mail Bob Dunahugh out of Iowa. He is a long time GMCer w/ lots of towing experience and is a very qualified mechanic. I know his is a 403 and I believe he has a 3:70 final drive. He tows a full size van or an enclosed trailer w/ one or two Corvair autos - lots of experience - upwards of 20,000 # max. w/ the trailer and 2 autos.
He is a good guy and very willing to share his experiences.
Based on his advice I am going to go w/ the 3:70 on my 76 - 28’er (2’ stretch) - weighs 14,500# & usually towing a Corvair (2,500#), in the future!
