Worked for us, called 800 number and within 1 hour tow had arrived and
we were taken to the repair facility of our choice.

Anyone use Camping World's towing service. That's what
I bought soon after I got my coach in '98. Have not
used it, and I hope not to have to use it. When it comes
time for renewal I wonder if I should keep Camping World
or switch.

Andy,
Thanks for the reply. Do you have to have Allstate auto
insurance to get the towing package?

Manny,
Thanks for the input. I wonder from what you said does
that mean that you pay first for the towing and then get
reimbursed later?

Which shop was your "facility of choice"? Buskirk or a local garage, or
would they have towed you all the way to Golby's in Florida if
requested?

On this thread, does anyone know of any company that will provide actual
roadside repair? I have had two failures on my coach (that I probably should
have been prepared for, but that was another story) which would have been
trivial 10 minute repairs on the roadsize (an Alternator belt, and a distributor
cap/ignition module), but all anyone wants to do is tow. Since the GMC is a
bit complex to tow, I frankly do not feel that it is wise to tow the coach
unless something catastrophic fails, and hence despite my "Road Service"
package, I almost always end up canvassing the local area via cellphone to
find someone who can actually help. The last thing that I want is a $5.00 part
to cause a tow by a guy who does not know how, and end up getting the front
end thrown out of alignment and/or the frame twisted.

So how about it, anyone know of a road service company that actually gives
road service, and not just towing?

Not a terribly bad idea, but what I really want would be much easier for all if
I could just find it. A road service contract that actually provided
SERVICE on the side of the ROAD as opposed to just towing disguised as road
service . . . . maybe I missed something, but both times that I have had to
have things fixed enroute, I managed to find a local shop to come out and do
it roadside, typically for less than $75.00. I can't imagine getting a
motorhome even hooked up to a tow truck for that, much less taken anywhere.

Also, you would think that there would be a lot less liability on the part of
the service provider if they did NOT tow. Kinda hard to bugger up a suspension
if you don't touch it . . . . . . . .

So, at the risk of being redundant, I will pose my question again.

Has anyone found a road service company that will provide on-site labor for
a repair when a tow is not really necessary?
