Top End Work Question - Native guide needed

Matt
Out of curiosity, did you try running with no cooling system pressurisation? Since there is no evidence of combustion byproducts in the coolant, it sounds more like a manifold gasket leak. Running with stop leak and no system pressure may get you another trip out of coach before having to tear it apart.

As has been said. It might be risky to run it much longer, but that also depends on how high the oil contamination actually is.

Matt, you already know the reality of this situation. Bite the bullet.
Procrastination is worse than fixing the problem. "What if's" never fixed
anything.

Les,

I am not losing coolant that I can determine.
A cooling system pressure lost a little pressure overnight.
I cannot detect combustion by-products in the coolant.
Blackstone says there is a problem and it is getting worse.

Our current plans are only about 2000 miles before the winter layup.
I am going to change the oil before she goes out again and may once more still before the winter layup.

My consideration at this point is only between pulling the top end and pulling the whole engine.
I am currently leaning toward the later.

If I pull the whole engine and do the full trick with a build book and all, I will know the status of the engine from here on. That would be very
comforting.
A problem there is that the Spring convention in Tucson would require that I do my validation miles over salted roads and I do not like that idea one
bit.
