Tony.
This is probably "With Sleeve", or "Without Sleeve". These sleeves are
common these days.
Some times the cover seal cuts a groove in the harmonic damper and will
not seal properly.
The sleeve is pressed onto the sealing face of the damper and provides a
new surface for the
cover seal to ride on. Inspect the damper for a groove. Or perhaps the
oil was seeping at that
point before you pulled it apart.
These sleeves are available seperately as well. Usually a drop of
Loctite is used as well.
I have used them on other vehicles and they work well. They can be
tricky to put on, as they
are very thin.
Regards, Gil.

There is another way to do it.

Apply a thin coating of Gasacinch contact cement to the BLOCK side of the
gasket and block. Permatex aviation to the top side, and RTV silicone
around the water jackets.
