Those who have ordered the Thomas 317 may be interested in knowing that Cinnabar
now lists it as the "official" replacement for the Dana and has assigned it "GMC
Motorhome Part Number 317." Price, $200.

Some specs are compared with the Dana in an article in the September issue of
GMC Motorhome News. Flow rate at 100psi is 0.56cfm for the Thomas vs. 0.35cfm
for the Dana.

I bet they (Cinnabar) get some added discount for marketing the Thomas pump,
like in their newsletter.

Our choice must have been pretty good--wonder if they monitor this GMCnet
for their ideas?

Yep. Scott, I think you did great. Think of it, there were probably less
than 300 owners on the net at the time of the order?(once you allow for
duplicates on the realtime & digest plus lots of want-to-beez). In a 2-3
week period, you got orders for something like 60? - 70? Thats pretty good
market share & consensus considering you can't get 3 of them to agree on
what tires should be inflated to :o). I'm sure that would get any
businesses attention.

Is there any interest in another group purchase?

I checked with Scott on the availability of additional Thomas compressors.

This was his reply:

HI Michael,
I have 317 Thomas Compressors, unfortunately you missed the group purchase
which I put together. Maybe in the future there will be another group
purchase. I can not buy the quanities necessary to get the costs the last
group purchase got. Therefore, the ones I have for sale are $165.00, which
is still $35.00 less than what Cinnabar advertised them for in their last
newsletter. If you would like one, I will need your name, address, city,
state, zip and phone number. I would then be able to figure out your
shipping costs.

Scott, what quantity would be required to bring the price back down?

Thanks,

I received one of the group purchased 317's. I'd like to reimburse you for
any additional shipping costs incurred on my unit delivered to Idaho. You
should not be out of pocket for having engineered this great deal. Please
let me know how much I owe you.

Me too - if I'd known I'd have paid an additional amount. We still saved a
ton any way you but it.

Me too----- I did not buy a pump I just want to send you money.

This makes you appreciate Jim Bounds and the other vendors, this is not an
easy jot to sell and make a profit. I have been in that game.

OOOOps, I changed my mind, I am not going to send you money.

Did I miss something here? I was inquiring about
purchasing a compressor through you. I was also asking members of the list
if there was an interest in another group purchase through you. It appeared
to me that you had negotiated a great deal for others and was hoping that it
could be repeated. Sorry to hear of all the grief you went through putting
the last package together. And I'm also sorry that you misunderstood my
intent.

Mike

Scott you of course can do anything you want relative to the group purchases
but why get involved if it causes you so much grief?

In relation to the OTC-927s that you sold I think you were very under
handed in the way you did it. I did all of the work, set up the contacts to
supply a minimum number of them with JSC corp and than you behind the scenes
buy them and start competing with me. Not very above board. You could at
least have contacted me and informed me what you were doing. It does not do
a lot for my credability with JSC when I told them how many they could be
assured of selling and than they only sell a fraction of them. Do you think
I may have a harder time negotiating with them again? I am now nearing
completion on the hydraulic version of my puller and you can bet it is going
to be sold as a set.

Tom,

I'd like to invite you to take a step back and reconsider what you wrote
below...

As you may recall, when you first advocated developing the bearing puller a
number of folks rained on your parade - with comments that weren't terribly
different from what you just said about Scott.

If you recall, I was one of your supporters - but low key. I remain low key
on the issues of people bringing new/improved/available products to market
for our GMC.

Scott went very public when the puller issue came up and said he would look
into establishing a faster supply chain for the new bearing puller order.
So, nobody should have been surprised by the second channel being created.

I encourage you (or anyone else developing a product) to ship it as
complete as you afford. It reduces miscommunication and makes it easier for
purchasers to deal with the end product.

I view Scott's offer to shorten delivery times as just another GMC benefit.
(When I ordered my first puller from Fred I got the same story as guys are
getting now. I don't doubt that he believes what he is passing on, so I am
NOT calling his integrity into question. I WILL buy other products from JSC)

Personally, I appreciate both you and Scott doing altruistic GMC things,
but I do think that there is still room for you both to make at least a
small profit on these endeavors.

Henry

................Quite frankly I don't know why you would send me two e-mails
under different addresses asking the same question. IIRC both of your
e-mails were answered the same identical way by me.
I DIDN'T SEND YOU TWO EMAILS! I sent one email to you and after receiving
your response I sent one to the list to see if there would be an interest in
another group purchase through you. I guess I was mistaken. You are some
kind of ass as far as I am concerned!! I already apologized to you for any
misunderstanding. I withdraw my apologies. It appears that you have chosen
to make a business out of this list. Yes, I think making twenty dollars off
of each list member is excessive. Where do you get off stating "my time and
effort should be in some way rewarded " I'm glad others don't share your
reasoning. If I were to find a great deal on any item of interest I would
want to pass it along to anyone interested at no cost and my efforts and
labor would also be free. This list is a wealth of information to me, not a
business adventure. I am not the first on the list to have received a bad
rap from you. I'm not interested in purchasing anything from you now nor in
the future. So piss off and leave me alone and drop this issue.
