stainless steel belt line ??

Very nice Gary. As many times as I have been next to your coach, that is
one detail I have not noticed.

His name escapes me (John ??) but he attends all GMCWS and Pacific Cruiser
rallys. That coach changes between every rally. He is the only one who has
successfully filled in the seams and not had them crack after paint. Look
real hard at that coach. Smooth as a baby's butt.

The coach with the SS or chromed belt line being referred to belongs to John Marana of Temecula, CA. I don't think John is active on the internet. I have talked with Jon now and then by phone.

Frank,

Do you (or anyone else) have a picture of John's coach?

I know I do not have one specifically of it. I did a quick look for one in a wide shot or in the background of the pictures I took before John left. Nothing.

After John left I tried to take at least three pictures of each coach... quite often even more. I'll need to select and post some.

Not ususual and you cannot get arrested for it " YET " !!!!

Really i just love the look of SS

I'm not so sure that is SS. I believe that is the adhesive backed molding
that comes on a roll. Not much time for a long look, buy look close and
you will see a seamless GMC here.

Steve,

Now I'm really confused!

Below you've noted:

"We have a 73"

"77 Palm Beach :- Aurora"

HUH?

Rob M.

Thanks Steve!

Yes, that is the coach I was thinking about. 14 seconds into the video. I looked at it while walking the dogs and meant to go back to take pictures. Even without getting up real close, I know it looks even nicer in person.

Every coach at the rally (GMCWS, Fall) had at least one or two interesting features... except the SOB on the end!

Actually it looked nice also... just has a different propose.

I think a stainless steel strip that is engine turned would look very good on one of these old girls.

"I've always been crazy, but it kept me from going insane"

Steve is correct in that the chrome side strip on John.s coach is the adhesive backed chrome Mylar.
John Morana called me shortly after I posted, by coincidence. He wanted to talk politics. John located the two in. material from a supplier back East after inquiring at several body shops.
For the rear seamless treatment John replaced the screws with custom made SS screws and a fast setting epoxy.

We have a U-Haul owned paintshop here in Phoenix that carries the chrome mylar stuff and several variatons of it. I chose to go all black but I have to admit the chrome look is very nice!!
