So what did you do to your GMC today?

Installed my rebuilt CV, bled the front brakes, installed the front Ions, and gave R2 a much needed wash. Took a break and decided to start it up to let it run for a while. It took longer than normal to fire after a sitting period, but did fire up eventually. Did my normal checks on the ground for anything leaking. Smelled fuel and tracked to the fuel line past the tank selector that had split and was seeping. Will work on that and final drive gear oil change on Sunday. Its starting to get there mechanically!

I finished my door handle, and all the repair work on the door panel. The interior decorator decided I needed to utilize our accent color.

I also mounted a blind-spot mirror. I think I like it, but I haven't driven with it yet. I do believe I'll order a second one. I'll cut the stud off shorter and cap it with a stainless acorn nut as the final touch.

Fix spare tire mount and mounted the spare Ion. Replaced fuel line between tank selector and hard line point beneath drivers area. Found the vent line that runs back to the charcoal canniser was chewed on, so will splice in a section of new hose. Also noticed 90 degree'ish hose for the filler may be a repurposed radiator hose so will look to source a proper replacement.

Cleaned the front Carrier Air V. It had developed a musty smell.

Considering how filthy it turned out to be I was surprised it was working as well as it did. Ended up disassembling a good bit of it for access and cleaning covers and fans, along with a few applications of foaming coil cleaner and rinsing. Took hours to do it right.

I poured some Seafoam into the gas tanks and drove it down to the emissions testing facility. It passed with flying colors. I hadn't driven it since the last Saguaro Jetset rally in April, We're preparing it for a mid Summer trip to Woods Canyon Lake up on the Mogollon rim, above Payson, AZ. The elevation is about 8000' up there, so it should be nice and cool. Getting there is a different story, driving through the 1300' Phoenix valley and 100+ degree temps.
