So what did you do to your GMC today?

Those rear wheel cylinders are so inexpensive, just replace with new. And put a larger one on the middle axle, they are from a similar year 1 ton chevy truck. There are a few choices, choose based on bore size.
Yep, already ordered 4 new cylinders and T hoses. At this point I'll just put some new shoes and springs in there as well.

Drove ours almost 500 mi yesterday from Crystal River FL to Ocean Springs MS. Gotta gas leak if I over fill. Went to 20 gal at a time when gas gauge reaches 1/4 tank. Will drop tanks when we get home.

I started my upholstery!
Starting on the base. Then ill make doors. I need a door for the back AND the front. The back, which faces the entry door, exposes a built in 2 drawer tool box.
I filled the wall side with sheet metal.
the ise side will get a tilt out door so i can hide things in there too.

Here is the bare frame, and with the vinyl layed over it.
Next step is to glue it on

If you haven’t already noticed the seat belts bolt to the body frame work under the plywood floor near the back of the seat base.Any guests will be riding side saddle on the drivers side if they want belts. The center bolt especially seems to be in the way.I would like to know of a work around since a entrance side door would be convenient.

On my brother's Palm Beach, the PO actually installed a door facing the entry door. It's very handy for grabbing items quickly from outside the coach. You're going to like that mod.

Over the last two weeks we I made 5 different trips with the motorhome to take my mother to the doctor's. The doctor is 1 1/2 hours away. The motorhome is easier for her to get in and out of than the pickup or the Lincoln, plus it has a bathroom. This was the real reason why I got it. All the fun is just an added bonus!

Your Mom is lucky to have both you and your GMC.

Never underestimate the importance of having a bathroom, a bath and a refrigerator with you at all times.

Pulled out the inner wheel wells and replaced my header gaskets with the Remflex ones, I found it interesting how the two centered ports of the 455 blow out between the ports horizontally but not at the perimeter. likely common just haven't seen it before

The gasket blows out in the center b/c it's unsupported, the two center exhausts are siamesed. That's why Lenzi gaskets don't have that center material at all.

Drove down to install new rear stainless T to the drums and do the brakes. Ended up taking 2 hours to just remove the main hard lines. Penetrating lube and some heat and an 11mm line wrench (tighter fit than 3/8) finally got the passenger side loose. Had to use vise grips on the drivers side to get it moving, then switch back over to an 11mm.

Small hard lines that go to the brake cylinders are not coming off at all so I'm going to get some 3/16 NiCopp from napa and make new ones. Will just cut out all the old lines on the bogeys and make everything simpler.

Started the first leg of a three day trip down to Vidalia for the Rally today. Everything was fine leaving Kansas and entering into Oklahoma. Temps were around 80, I think. Rig was running like a champ. After 3 hours or so, I pulled into a gas station to look at my map for the next bit of driving, with the engine idling. After a few minutes, I put it in drive, and it sputtered and died. Engine was hot sitting there, about 215 degrees when I looked down at the gauge. It would not restart. I had to let it sit and cool down, and after maybe 10, 15 minutes, it fired right up.
It happened a second time shortly thereafter. I was going through rolling hills at 65 mph, and had to pull over to make a phone call. Whilst on the call, the engine got hot again. Maybe 220 degrees this time. When it was time to go, the engine sputtered, but I got rolling. I made it maybe 100 feet when it died again I had to wait a good 10 to 15 minutes before it would start again.
This never happened last year, when I drove in 90+ degree weather, driving for 3 hours. This year I have driven it five times on an hour and half drive in 80+ degree weather with no issues.
I got it rolling again and drove another 35 minutes to the camp ground. It died again when backing into the site.

Vapor Lock? Engine overheating?

Engine oil is fine. I'll check the radiator in the morning when it is good and cold. The overflow reservoir was up the hot operating line, so that looked fine.

Debating whether to continue to Vidalia, or head back home in the morning to be safe. Currently located near Shawnee, OK. Tomorrow's journey is supposed to be to Minden, LA.

Just checked the radiator. The coolant is up to the top. So it checks out. I'm guessing vapor lock. Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening tomorrow?
