What's the best way to contact Mr. Lenzi? I have my front end apart for control arm bushings, so while its apart I'd like to send him some parts.

Yesterday...
Began the EFI installation:
  • Surge tank mounted
  • O2 and coolant temp sensors installed
  • ECU mounted
  • Wiring Harness routed
  • Air filter/snorkel mounted
Today's plan:
  • Install fuel return fitting
  • Plumb the surge tank
  • Swap the carb for the throttle body
  • Install fuel lines/filters
Finish it Monday?

Also, at the insistence of my local guru, removed the 3rd party dash A/C compressor that was barely mounted and had no belt.
Luther, Where did you mount the surge tank?
 
Last week I learned that some 70s and 80s Volvos had a lift pump, a surge tank, and a "high pressure" pump (I'm working on an '88 240 and learned about its predecessors). The surge tank would be fairly small of course, but even so, that's a pretty easy solution for experimentation.

Surge tank is mounted horizontally on the step riser. Under passenger seat, right next to the engine hatch.

This tank will mount either vertically or horizontally. Remove the bottom plate to mount horizontally using tapped holes on the side. A bar of aluminum was drilled to mount to the tank with extension beyond both ends. The bar was screwed to the step riser, with the AN6 fittings and gauge accessible through the engine access hatch.

Snooping around my GMC today, and I found something I don't recognize. Two, 2 conductor wires with plugs/prongs that remind me of 12V systems. I found this in the back of the refrigerator compartment. My fridge is propane or 120v AC. My fridge is old, but I don't think it is original. Can you guys identify these for me? Looks like 2-pin banana plug cable improvised by someone. The kind of thing you'd use with a bench-top power supply in a lab. It's not the kind of thing I'd use in a GMC necessarily. Home theater speakers sometimes have the same banana plug and spacing as lab supplies, so you'd see cables made up for these too. Maybe that's what they were up to?

Not Luther but I'm running an under car surge tank like this. It is shorter than the bottom of the frame rails. Right now I'm trying to figure out a dash mount for a Starlink Mini.surgeonan.webponan surge tank.webp

Banana plugs for a pair of speakers.
 
Yesterday we got the new valve cover gasket in and managed to get it timed and idle set. Engine sounds good now; No more backfiring out of the carb when revving it up and no more burning oil on the exhaust ports. Moved it over in the pole barn to get better access to the drivers side. Brakes are very soft but plan on doing a full inspect and bleed when I install the new Ions here soon.

Also tried starting the Onan. Primed the fuel pump with a jumper but its not pulling any fuel. Pulled filter housing and it was dry. The gasket looks like its shrunk so need to get another one before I troubleshoot further. There is a fuel cutoff inline that may be the culprit as I've got 34ish gallons of fuel in the tanks.

Replaced the house fuse system with a blade fuse setup. I intend to use the new fuse block for the Viair compressor while using the old power wire as a relay trigger. That will be after I can get the GMC mobile and closer to home. Have isolators on the airbags so I can manually set the height for now.
 
I'm sort of cheating because I didn't actually do anything, but Steve from Cinnabar and his team did.. just got notice my coach is ready.
Had them go through all the systems for a health check and some misc fixes.
Should be ready to roll this year.

I got my GMC stuck in the sand/lawn at my brother's house here in Florida. Does that count as doing something with my GMC?
Discovered a good reason to have a contoured piece of plywood (shelf?) under the headlight buckets. Acts as a mudguard when you're stuck in the sand at your brother's house.

You are making a very good case for switching to a limited slip final drive upgrade.

In Palmetto, FL, I dug into a pretty deep hole with my shell on sand front yard.
