Gentlemen..
I have tried everything..a 20 amp fuse keeps blowing and I've run out of
options. My clearance lights refuse to work ..Any ideas ?

Check your grounds and ensure wires are not touching causing shorts. Check
sockets too. You have circuits shorting somewhere.

Have you done anything with your rail awning lately?
The rear top lights have usually been wired backwards by the factory. They have the hot lead going to the shell of the lights and the ground wire going to the bulb. Since the shell is screwed down to the fiberglass panel it didn’t cause any problems but if someone has put on an awning rail that touches the passenger side shell of the clearance light it is putting a direct short from the hot lead to the ground. It is necessary to move the clearance light a little to give clearance and if you have the inner panel off the wires to the lights should be reversed to have the hot lead going to the bulb.

If that is not your problem let us know and we may have other suggestions.

There is a ground connection for the lights near the license plate on the inside. That often gets corroded and stops the lights from getting a proper ground. Clean it up and put on some dielectric grease and use a star washer to insure a good connection.

I have done a lot of diagnosis of electric stuff. I will suggest that you solder a pair of wires to a blown fuse solder and the other end of that pair
to a small lightbulb. When you put that fuse in, the bulb will light. Now, keep doing things until that bulb goes dim.
What to do?
Just keep opening things up until you get that light to change.

Thanks Emery.. I hadn't done anything with the rail, but the info you gave
about the
Wiring hit a home run... Rechecking, found one of the top lights shorted.
(with the bulb removed)

People should be aware that there is a distinct possibility of a shorted
socket.
