Hey all happy holidays wondering what the options are for side view mirror replacements I have a 78 and the mounting bolts look like they don't fit
anything even the Ramco's bilt pattern. I'm wondering has anyone found something that will bolt onto the existing mounting bolts/nuts? I see on
applied site there is an option for 78 GMC how's the base machine? Is it just drilled out? Does anyone have a picture of what they look like before
mounting? Does the mount look clean or is it evident that they've been modified?

Dave,
The bolt patern are ALL the same.
77-78 has a stud atached to the body so the arm has a seat machined, the
other years require an arm with counter sink.

Yes it is clean as the arm is made for the GMC MH.

I have had Ramcos for years. They the fit with no modifications. I assume that still offer them. Ask Jim K. for sure.

Both my coaches have/had Ramcos. The 23' never had the wires hooked up. I didn't realize they were electric till I took the plate off the arm and
found the wires. I assume the NO (Next Owner, in this case Mike Briere) put a switch or two on the armrest and is using them.

There were arms for the Ramco mirrors made for the GMC
JmK maybe the only source, other than a parts coach.
Velerac (sp?) is another excellent brand.
These after market parts are hard to find.

All parts for the Ramco mirrors are available from Ramco. See below:

That said, you will get the best pricing and service from Jim K at Applied GMC for complete mirrors and parts for your repair needs! I got the 9-pin switches from him at a fair price and very good delivery!

I got mine from Applied GMC. Fit great. Jim suggested the ones with the turn signal light built into the base. I've been extremely grateful for that suggestion that Jim mentioned . Great safety upgrade. And cheep. Bob Dunahugh

I just wish the arms would fold in as well if you need to get through a narrow spot, but I think they're the best out there and the remote control is
nice to have when adjusting your side view mirrors.

I hope Jim responds and maybe some of the members can post pictures of the brackets and nuts for a 78. Merry Christmas happy holidays

I will try to remember to look at the 78 that is parked in my hangar. Then I'll go next door and look at my 76 parked in that hangar. It will be a
couple of days before I am out there.

Same bracket, just different hole seating.
77-78 uses the nut from original.
73-76 uses the origional screws
