To expand on Jim’s comments, gas tungsten arc welding, also known as tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) , is an arc welding process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. A filler rod of aluminum which matches the material being repaired is then melted into the puddle. This gives a very clean and strong weld as the inert gas prevents the weld from oxidizing.
