O2 sensors

I am wondering how many might be going to the GMC Western States Roundup
in April 24-29. If there are a number planning to go and if one person
could get them in time before leaving home, it would save Alan alot of
trouble in the shipping. We will be there, however we will be away from
home from the beginning of April. I f there was an interst in this I
would be interested in such an arrangement.
One other thing- Are these sensors generic as to electrical sensitivity
so they will work for any dash gauge? In other words is there any
question of matching them to any particular gauge?

Alan I will give you all the details you need as soon as I sort out what
i want.

I have had a couple of e-mails from people showing concern about the group buy
of O2 sensors. Unfortunatley my Job and School keep getting in the way of
really important things like taking care of my friends on the Net. I was
actually able to spend some time on the package and shipping project this
afternoon. Hang in there they are comming. Please no more requests till I take
care of the orders I have for now. Ken Henderson I will try to get yours out
first, they will go to the new address.

Those of you with weak hearts please sit down.
I have actually shipped some O2 sensors. I sometimes
wonder about myself, what day of the year did I finally
get around to shipping sensors from the post office? April 15
Yes tax day, well it used to be and most people do not know
that they have till Tuesday, what a mob.
I will be posting a list later today of the people that I have
orders from but no shippable address. If you ordered but do not
see your name on this list, I have your parts but no address.

I forgot to mention there is a sheet of
paper in each shipment with my address and
the cost of the sensors. I rounded the shipping
cost up to the nearest dollar, I did not think
anyone would mind providing me a bit for my time.
Does anyone have Dave Greenburgh's address (GMC
Registry) I need it. One person on the list sent me an
updated address and I lost it so it went to the old
address, sorry, e-mail me if you want I can re-ship to
the new address.

Arch, Oxygen sensors were designed to help control
(emphasis on control) the air fuel mixture. The reason they
started using them was to maintain the air fuel mixture at
the correct level so the Catalytic converter would operate
correctly. The early Carbureted units had an electric
solenoid that (about 60 HZ or about once a second) changed
the mixture based on the air fuel mixture based on the
oxygen sensor signal. Needless to say as the oxygen sensor
senses the mixture after it happens it is always a bit
late, oh well its the best that we had. Current fuel
injection systems do a bit better as today they monitor the
mass and volume of the air entering the engine as well as
controlling the amount of fuel entering the mixture. Bottom
line here is you are monitoring a stock carb system with a
rich lean switch (Oxygen sensor, the graphed output, from
rich to lean and back, kinda looks like a steep bell curve
in other words it has a non-linear output). Under the
circumstances (stock carb, no computer) rich under
acceleration is normal. Lean on the highway is not
necessarily bad, cause it could be just barely lean (real
lean can burn valves) but I suggest that you read the
plugs. A local auto parts store may have a plug reading
chart or better yet find a circle track racer, those guys
have it down to an art. Hope this helps.

Actually I meant once a second I always get confused with
those HZ MHZ KHZ thingys so I guess I meant 1 HZ.
