Salutations:
Just wanted to say hi.. After much research (thx, I read a lot of the archives on this list and site before writing the cheque) - bought a '77 26 foot and am starting to add it to my list of many things to do..
I live in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada.. The home has 47,000 miles on it (paradise is never more than 100 miles away up here).. It seems to be fairly intact save some wierdo Onan patches and dead duo-therm air conditioner.. as well as the usual dead shocks, loose 'steering control arm' - bad lower right ball joint - rotted tires - almost rotted air-bags.. general 'we're selling it - not maintaining it ' pwobs..
What I was wondering is; has anyone had any luck looking for a low amperage heat exchanger to replace the roof air conditioner?.. I'm convinced that there was a simple non-freon compressor I read about years ago in Pop-Sci that would do the trick (Rovac, or Rovak or something like that) used in the aircraft industry - but can't find it using net.. Hoping it was marketed under new name or the like..
Love to hear from owners, flag me with an email if you're planning to be around Nova Scotia - totally new to the RV thang' but can pass along a couple of hints for good clams and interesting stops.. There are a couple some real nice GMC owners (people who have had them for a much longer time than me) up here I can put you in touch with if you are in the area and in trouble..
