Jon, Randy is also my GO TO guy. He has been at my place for several days,
and we sorted out the engine (extensively modified) in the coach I am
presently working on.
Through no fault of the EBL/HOWELL setup, when the owner came and
picked up the coach with a brand new extensively modified engine, he left
for home, got about 30 miles up the Interstate, and it severely overheated.
He pulled over, left it on the freeway, and it was towed back to my shop.
It has sat there until now, When I went to start it to drive it into my
shop, no joy. So I used all 6 of my tricks on it, sorted out the electrical
and pinned it down to no fuel. Purged the system of old gas, replaced it
with fresh (no alcohol) fuel, flushed out the lines and filters, blew out
the throttle body, hooked up fuel lines, turned the key to start, and it
started almost instantly.
So, now, it comes out, and a fresh S & J 455 motorhome special is
going in to replace my hot rod engine. Then, it is going to be tail lights
down the road, to a different owner, but that is a long, off subject, story
for another thread.
