It obviously takes a lot of balls to tackle a project like yours. ;)

Richard, I think you must mean nuts. One has to be 'nuts' to tackle a project like this.

Got another update. Was out of town for a month so things have been a little slow.
Also have been moving in a little different direction than I had planned which is eating into the time. I think the Dana 70 will probably be the
best/strongest way to go even if it takes a little redo work. Hope people enjoy. Hal

Hal, we're going to need bleacher seating in your shop. There's lots of interest in watching you work on the GMC St Clair®️ and I've started
selling tickets. I've already made some arrangements for the concession stand. :)

Well at least someone might make some money off this project Richard-it sure won't be me
And thanks for the input. There hasn't seemed to be much interest/trafic via my video's and I was wondering if I should continue them.

Hal,
You have unique skills and resources, working on a unique motorhome, chasing a build that most of us could only dream of.
My guess is that GMC owners as a group have 1/5th of your skills and 2/3rds of your passion to enjoy and improve their coaches.
Successfully diagnosing and solving problems is one of the joys of our coaches and also one of necessity.
Therefore, watching someone as creative, resourceful and accomplished as you solve such unusual problems in what will eventually look something like
what I drive is equal parts amazing, instructive and jealousy inducing.
Don't you dare stop doing the videos, and tell your lovely wife her documenting is perfect.
You are preaching to a choir that appreciates what you are doing very much.

Definitely keep making the videos and posting them, Hal. If Wilbur and Orville had filmed their earliest tinkering and distributed it so others could
benefit and build on that work we'd already be running hotdog stands on the Moon.

Did you ever see the movie Field of Dreams? "Build it and they will come."

Hey, Hal and your own personal Video Grapher.
Things are still smokin' here in Oregon, but the fires are mostly
contained. A good thing. The towns up in the Canyon don't exist anymore,
totally destroyed. That includes Detroit, and the two marinas at the lake,
most of the town of Gates, much of Lyons, some of Mehama. All of Jawbone
Flats, and much of the old growth forests surrounding it succumbed to the
fires as well. Nearly all the State Parks, and County Parks in the area of
Little North Fork of the Santiam River, and the canyon from Detroit dam to
Mehama on the Santiam River are heavily impacted. The main road from the
Willamete Valley to Sisters and Central Oregon is still closed and is
likely to remain that way for some time, due to downed trees, power lines,
destroyed guard rails, road signs, etc. That does not even talk about
Medford, Phoenix, Talent, etc. Different fires, same results.
But, please continue to videotape your work on your current pusher
project. Many of us are really interested in your efforts. Inspiration to
all of us "gearheads" in GMC Land.
Still smokin'!!

Gee folks, I'm really flattered at the remarks although I'm sure there are others here that could do the same if they wished and had the facilities.
I'm just a backyard wannabe engineer having fun. I'm blessed to have the resorces and a wife that is on board (and pretty good with the camera to
boot).
I'll be sure to continue with the videos and hope that if/when I make blunders the brain trust here might step in and offer suggestions.
Thank you again for the kind remarks, Hal

Hal is hiding his technical/fab expertise under a bushel here. For those who haven't had the privilege of visiting the StClair demesne and touring
the Olds wagon, and the Eagle with the raised roof and the front drive Diesel GMC and the split window 'Vette undergoing a frame - off may not realize
this build is merely a step up from the past. I might add EVERYthing there looks like it came from the factory, if the factory had about three times
the normal QC stress. I'm holding off for the clean sheet motor home - I'm sure it's in mind for the future!

If you haven't had the distinct pleasure of seeing his bus, you have missed
the 8th wonder of the civilized world. I am not exaggerating much here.
It started out as a Prevost (i think) it has been gutted, widened,
roof raised, lengthened, re-powered, (not just engine, but transmission,
differential, turbos, on board generator, Air conditioning, not a stone
unturned here. I am unable to describe the interior adequately. I do not
posses enough superlatives in my vocabulary. It really needs to be seen in
person.
Anything he touches receives the same treatment. Master Craftsman only
touches his skill set. And it takes a whole bunch of skill to impress me.
So, his current project bears close attention. Amazing, does not even begin
to cover it.

So he's got a reworked Prevost that's kinda nice?
Oh yeah...
So where's da pictures?

I've seen what Hal can do from his videos, and his problem solving is clearly "genius-at-work" but I have not seen a finished project.
Time to appeal to his videographer bride???
