Hey, Hal and your own personal Video Grapher.
Things are still smokin' here in Oregon, but the fires are mostly
contained. A good thing. The towns up in the Canyon don't exist anymore,
totally destroyed. That includes Detroit, and the two marinas at the lake,
most of the town of Gates, much of Lyons, some of Mehama. All of Jawbone
Flats, and much of the old growth forests surrounding it succumbed to the
fires as well. Nearly all the State Parks, and County Parks in the area of
Little North Fork of the Santiam River, and the canyon from Detroit dam to
Mehama on the Santiam River are heavily impacted. The main road from the
Willamete Valley to Sisters and Central Oregon is still closed and is
likely to remain that way for some time, due to downed trees, power lines,
destroyed guard rails, road signs, etc. That does not even talk about
Medford, Phoenix, Talent, etc. Different fires, same results.
But, please continue to videotape your work on your current pusher
project. Many of us are really interested in your efforts. Inspiration to
all of us "gearheads" in GMC Land.
Still smokin'!!
