Or look into "collector vehicle, historic vehicle" status. Registered mine that way in washington and never have to go to emissions or buy tags

It is only fraud when you get
caught. Both Alabama and Georgia will issue a title for a 70s coach based on a hand written bill of sale, Georgia will usually have the guy from the tag office walk out and
look. Get the patent plate, send me a pic of it, and I'll sel you the 'coach' for a dollar and Other Valuable
Consioderations. You can then title it here and present the title to the bureaucrats
there.

Matt, That is called fraud and owning a GMC is NOT worth going to jail for.

This is an honest
question.
Wouldn't it be easier to find a derelict '73~4, buy it and use the ID plate and
title to register the coach with that VIN?
I did build a Model T Ford pick up as a hotrod years
ago. Blown Hemi and
such.
It had and fiberglass body and a fabricated
frame. It was registered in NY as a
recovered vehicle and subject to the rule in place for a 1917 vehicle.
Could not California residents make use of some similar trick?
Actually any body with California experience might have an answer for
me.
