And isn't it silly that the law that is in place to ostensibly protect the environment really doesn't? It does force the poor to junk their cars, or drive them illegally without registration. The better heeled simply go through shenanigans to improve performance, and in most cases, reduce pollution. This is an issue with vehicles produced from 1976 - today. Not a lot of collectables there yet, but wait a few years... What nonsense.
If it were permissible to modify our automobiles, so long as the emissions do not increase, by tail-pipe test (and I suppose evaporative inspection), then everyone wins! Alas, common sense is only permitted outside our capital domes.
