Dang. I like that way of thinking. Use the door from above on the stove
space below. Get a new light/fan unit and build a better housing for the
oven than just filling existing space.

Byron,
If you look at some of the other pictures of the vent you can see that
I only used the internal part of the hood and did not use the full
metal cabinet as it use up too much space. I also added some extra
lighting to brighten up the counter top.

Thanks for the input! While I like what you did with your microwave when
I showed it to Helen she asked "won't that block the window?" Also the range
hood we have wouldn't work. She's adamant that she wants the four burners
and that bending over to read the display is fine with her!

We graduated from a Harley to the GMC and have gone from a saddle bag and a
half a sissy bar bag each to LOTS of storage space!

John Sharpe removed both the overhead cabinets in the bedroom from the parts
coach and I intend to use them over the dinette in both Double Trouble and
The Blue Streak. I'll put a power point inside so we can plug in the
computer, cell phones, etc to charge them.

I'm also considering removing the love seat, extending the counter top, and
building in some more cabinets. I haven't broached that subject with Helen
yet.

Go back and look at the pictures again. The nice thing about the new
style cook tops is that they have a grill (actually 2) all the way
across the top so that it is easy to slide a pan to the side off the
flame. You should have her look at someone elses cook top before
deciding. I think that the pictures that I have on my gmcmhphotos.com
site show that well.

Rob, Bontrager's RV Surplus had brand new Half-Time Convection Microwaves for $125. Price included the metal surround and additional blower to vent the back of the unit, and keep the heat down inside the cabinet that it was installed in. I bought one and I think that it is very nice, and the price was very right. The ones that I looked at were all brand new and never installed.
