I've got another $.02 - something that's occurred to me several times
since I subscribed, and the Tom Warner - Jim Bounds exchange of today
has reminded me of it again.
Like Tom, I too have been briefly irritated by a contribution to the
list that stops just short of where it might - for example, not
discussing the costs of an upgrade, after doing an outstanding job
otherwise (technically). Jim, too, has on occasion "left out" parts
of a story that would have been of interest to me.
But I feel most fortunate that people like Jim, Heinz (in British
Colombia), Arch (anyone that counts an Itasca Phasar among the heads
in his garage is truly a force!), and many others, have shared
experiences and lessons-learned that have been of great benefit for
everyone reading the list.
Jim, in particular, is in the business of selling his expertise,
provides a considerable amount of no-cost, excellent information, as
well as the willingness to foot the telephone bill if anyone wants to
follow up. I can only hope, Jim, that your business base is growing -
if you were less than 3,000 miles away, I'd happily darken your door
when I needed your services. You're earned my respect since you got
onto the list. I'd hate to think what I'd have had to pay to learn
all that you've taught me!
Many thanks to all of you professional amateurs, and professional
professionals , for sharing! You make the list work for everyone.
