Speeduino is not meant to have all the features. It's meant to be cheap and easy to use.

It was a compliment, Keith! I wasn't commenting on the Speeduino (first time I ever saw the name) or Megasquirt (know nothing at all about it).
"I'd consider speedduino for a low power toy car that doesn't go far or often." is an artful sentence. I appreciated the understated eloquence that pretty much eliminated Speeduino if someone's looking for power/distance/frequency of use.
Bill, I am a GMC motorhome owner running the dynamic system. I've been working on a sort of ported version of the whats up display for a "glass cockpit" - and an alternate to needing a windows tablet. I'm currently working with a raspberry pi and node-red and can read the data stream. Bob was quite helpful along with a couple gentlemen in the gmc community. **EBL UPDATE: GOOD NEWS! Dynamic EFI has accepted my offer. It will take some time to get everything legally and materially put together and get the EBL back into production as soon as possible. Keep watching here for updates as they develop.
My old laptop that connects to the EBL has a serial port adapter for the connection. Is there another way to make the connection?
Early EBL units used a RJ11 (4 pin telephone style modular connector), a modular cord and a RJ11 to 9 pin serial plug. I don't recall if there is an on-board chip to generate true RS232 signal voltages, or if it is just TTL.
I believe RobR needed to make some updates to the circuit board because of part changes at which time he changed the connector to a 3 wire 1/8" plug. He then included a TTL to USB adapter cable as most laptops no longer have serial ports. I haven't tried it, but I think you can make up a db9 to 1/8" plug and use your laptop with a serial connector. If you try this, let me know if it works.
I have that RJ11 cord that goes to a 9-pin adapter. Perhaps I’ll try a 9-pin to USB adapter and chain them together.
That is what I do with my current "EBL computer". It works well after you figure out what serial port the USB adapter has decided to use. It usually picks the same one every time, but the odd time it picks another port just to be annoying.
I have the early RJ11 to Serial to FTDI Serial to USB (cable) I also use an Enterlogic virtual serial port program to allow the WUD and Winlog-EBL to to use the same physical USB port. Both can run and collect data at the same time. I tried a serial to bluetooth link but it was flaky.
know that the only difference between the RJ11 version and the 1/8" stereo plug is the connector. they are both TTL serial

Another EBL Update: It looks like it will be sometime in January 2026 that I will take control of the EBL. Still waiting on lawyer stuff to happen right now. I have another zoom call with my lawyer later today. Stay tuned for further development. BTW, our test box assembly for the EBL CFI/TPI is coming along nicely and should be an awesome piece of equipment moving forward.

Yes, I do plan on making the EBL Flash II available for other ECMs, but I will have to take care of the CFI and TPI owners first. I’m hoping it won’t take long and make them available to everyone in due time. Have a Happy New Year. I will be closed on January 1st.
