Dan,
Chances are you don't really have a problem. Unless your PO installed a
multifunction switch on the steering column, or designed his own electrical
system, you should have what I call a Push-to-Wash/Twist-to-Wipe (PtW/TtW)
switch. It has a 1" diameter black knob with a Wiper & Washer logo on its
face. Somewhere nearby should be a smaller knob on a rheostat. The switch
has OFF, LO, and HI positions. OFF is pretty self-explanatory. LO runs
the wipers at low speed but also enables the rheostat to impose a delay
between sweeps. I'm afraid I haven't been very consistent in how I've
wired the rheostats: Some increase the sweep DELAY when turned ClockWise,
others increase the sweep FREQUENCY when turned CW. I kind of figure
either becomes second nature after about one use. The HI position on the
PtW/TtW increases the sweep speed to almost too fast, and disables the
intermittent sweep feature.
