Let's hear it for Minnesota people! Seems odd there are so many in
Florida this week? I suppose they brought their beer so it would thaw.

Yah, when we moved to Golden in 1979, they told to
sell my snow blower for the very reason stated above.
We arrived early October. Wednesday before
Thanksgiving it snowed 30 plus inches. Didn't go away
till mid may.

Hey, you GMCer's that are shivering, how 'bout sharing some tips on how to use
the GMC during freezing temperatures?

I've been reluctant to use my coach in the winter due to concern about the
freshwater and waste systems. But that makes for a short camping season here in.

We don't even try to use our GMC during the winter. We are at 3,000 ft. our
driveway is a solid sheet of ice during the winter so no getting in or out
with a motorhome. Big Jim is winterized and retired from the end of Oct.
through April. Idaho Panhandle.

Emery, after hearing of your winter camping I'm going to have to load the family
and our snowshoes and give it a try.

Do you happen to know if a Macerator pump will be damaged if I let waste water
freeze in it?

Also, did you keep the GMC in heated storage between weekend trips, or did you go
through the routine of winterizing the water and waste system after each trip?

Richard,
I've taken mine to ski resorts once or twice a year since I got it in 1986.
This includes New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. I usually winterize the water
system with the commercial products available and minimize use of the
bathroom facilities. I still have the original Solaire heater and its doing
a good job. I carry chains and have used them. Stay on sanded roads and it
is not a big problem. I see no reason not to use it regularly. As with
traveling by car, the worst problems are the other drivers who ignore bad
conditions. Use it!
