SHOWOFF!
I "used to" download as fast as 800 kbps on occasion with my direcpc
satellite internet dish. They got to be very undependable though and now
throttle back the bandwidth after one downloads a certain amount in a
certain period of time. It was great while it lasted though. It's
probably going to be the best I ever do out here in the sticks. I'm stuck
with 56k dialup now and it don't look like it'll ever get any better.
btw, I'm fixin to sell the satellite dish if anyone here wants it. It's
still good for hi speed surfing. Just don't expect to be able to download
large files (over 15 mb at a time) with it.
I'll let it go for $50 and shipping to anyone in this group. It includes
all software, books, dish, and internal pci satellite modem. You have to
subscribe to their service which costs a minimum of $19.95 per month, in
addition to your existing isp.

If anyone's interested, just holler.
