Good Day all you GMC Motorhome enthusiasts.
I very recently joined this forum and am blown away at the wealth of knowledge, experience, and eagerness to help each other.

My name is Scott and I just purchased a brand new (to me) 1978 GMC Royale - Rear Bath [looking at all of the available floor plans, this is the one I wanted). I also wanted one from the south (anything close to home is usually rusty). So I did buy it from a private party in another state (Arkansas) and am having it transported to my location in Minnesota.

She needs a lot of TLC but I'm good with that.
body is clean (but has sun fade), needs tires and wheels, right side air bag has leak somewhere, two roof leaks - I know where they are. Between the two leaks and the pealing headliner paper I am going to replace the headliner, all appliances work, seats and benches all re-upholstered, ran when last parked, Generator Works, needs battery and won't start.

I bought it last week and since then have been dealing with the transport folks, which is very frustrating and expensive. - a whole other story - please don't get me started. But hopefully they will get their stuff together and I'll see my coach in a few days.

Anyway, in preparation I have already prepared a punch list to start.
Repair Roof Leaks,
Replace tires and wheels (already ordered set of 16" Ions)
Repair Airbag leak (or if necessary, replace with new bags from Cinnabar)
New Brakes
New Wheel Bearings
New Fuel Lines
New Vacuum Lines
Service Engine/Carb

Then I may be able to start enjoying this magnificent machine while I continue the renovation

Awesome!!!

i did not realize you lived i MN.
I am up in st. Cloud.

one thing nice about that is we have a pretty nice gmc club. There are many owners who you will not see on internet and some you will. But there are numerous who have owned gmc for decades.

this year we have a great year lined up for rallys. Our first is just accross the river from wabasha the weekend after memorial day. Even if you are not set to drive the coach, come out to visit!

Any questions- message me or I am on the blacklist.

I just put that on my calendar, thank you.
I shall plan on stopping by.
And from the looks of it, its walking distance to Nelson Cheese factory.

Welcome and good luck -- sounds like you're already making some good choices. What motivated you to go for the rear bath floorplan?

... What motivated you to go for the rear bath floorplan?

Rear bathroom looks to be less cramped than the side bathroom and more of a bathroom/dressing room,
I like the dinette across from the larger counter.
And most importantly, its different from all the others!

Scott,
I think you mean Back-Date.... .
About a sigfile - If go to the upper right of the screen you will see an M in a circle. That is your settings. If you click on signature, that will allow you to fill in more.
Matt

I would add to your punch list a close inspection and potential replacement of the rubber brake hoses and the engine oil cooler lines if original.
