Hi All

Check out the marine type diesel heaters at
http://www.seacraft.com/EsparD9Whotwaterkit.htm
http://www.seacraft.com/WebastoThermo90kit.htm

Not cheap but you could replace the propane and use it to heat the hot water
as well as the coach.

If you want propane for cooking a small tank could maybe be installed next
to the frame under the kitchen.

Please don't rush out and do this an my recommendation, but it is a thought.
I use a boiler in the house to heat the house and heat the water - it works
very well. The hot water tank can reheat the water at over 3 gallons per
minute, we NEVER run out of hot water.

To misquote Arch -- I haven't done this so don't try and copy me, but if you
do I may copy you.

Webasto is the brand used in most RV/bus/ truck applications I have seen,
and the Thermo 90 comes in a nice, tidy package. This is why we chose it.

It looks like they make a nice product. Any hints as to the price?

I'll have to check on the price, but I believe it was in the area of $1500
for the complete package. Probably a lot more than a new propane unit, but I
think it was worth it.

I got mine from a marina, called Pilot's Point in Connecticut. If the price
hasn't left you reeling, I can get you the name of the guy who helped me.
They use this system in large yachts quite often. I've found a lot of nice
products made for boats that work well in an RV. They have a nice
electric/butane stove, but I found it only after I bought a total electric.
There are 2 electric burners, and one that runs off a small butane bottle.

I know Pilots Point well. I worked as Controller of Derecktor's Shipyard in
Mamaroneck, NY for 5 years and they were our big competitor. I work in Stamford
and live in Wilton, CT. The furnace in ours is working but doesn't seem to have
the oomph my frigid (Thermally speaking!) wife wants. She actually wears furry
slippers to bed in August with no aircontitioning! Haven't had a chance to try
our coach out as it is still under renovations but I am anticipating the need to
replace the furnace. This unit you used is really nice. May be on the shopping
list for next winter.
