A/ I don't think this would impact any other chapter's membership. Many
owners belong to more than one chapter, B/ A GMCnet chapter is a good
idea, C/ GMC MH/I is already crossing country boundries, not that that
matters, butI thoughtI would clarify that point.

Organziing under FMCA's banner has a lot of merit. There is liability
insurance coverage for chapter get togethers and to cover officer's
decisions. (It would be interesting to see if the inurance covers someone
on the Net who reccommends something that causes a serious liability
exposure)

The FMCA regs have more to do with being good citizens than anything
else, something I'm sure most people on this forum could easily abide by.
The magazine is easily worth the cost ofmembership.

Complying with the two rallys per year reqm't would be easy; one in the
East and one in the West. It is good to put faces to names. The two
rallys could combine with the GMC/I rallys so there wouldn't be any
additional travel required.

Comments on the above is welcomed. Seems to me from the number of
responses so far, there is a moderate level of interest in organzing in
some fashion. As a Chpater of FMCA I see more advantages than
disadvantages.

What do you all think? What about Patrick? Doyou have any concerns about
the Net becoming more than it presently is? I would yield to your wishes
as I like the Net just the way it is, but it would be nice for guys and
gals to be able to park together. This is what prompted this thread in
the first place.

For me, as an officer in my club, etc., I probably would still want to
park with my Florida Chpater.

I don't really have any concerns about GMCnet developing into something
bigger(and hopefully better) than it is now(actually it's bigger now
than I thought it ever would be at the beginning). My main concern is
that we don't lose focus on the technical support mission, especially
for newbies. I think it's cool that the list has progressed to the
point where some members want to forge a formal organization based on
it, but I'm not sure that I see any advantages to a GMCnet Chapter,
other than the insurance coverage afforded by FMCA if we should decide
to have rallies on our own.

Since I'm already a member of three FMCA chapters, one more won't hurt.
Oh yeah - one advantage to a GMCnet chapter; no need for a newsletter
editor!

Arch,
We got you beat. Tornado sighted and passed just north of city. I'm on the
south side. Course there ain't much difference between the southside and
the northside.

And, another one on the way spotted in SE Arkansas.

Hang on feller

It is good that you can still remember, Lanier!

I find that my memory tends to make the old days a lot better than they
probably were-and therefore the current days worse than they probably
are.

Does any of this make sense to anyone other than Arch?

Arch,
As wannabe, I have stayed out of the organization bit, but as one suggested
ownership would be a requisite. That puts me out again. Can't join FMCA,
can't join GMCI, cause I don't have a coach. You guys have taught me a lot.
But, more than that, you have accepted me with arms wide open as a wannabe
owner of a GMC. You all have treated me as if I belong to the "club" and I
feel that I belong. Will be a full fledged member in not to distant future,
but will purchase with a whole lot of knowledge of the GMC. This group is
unique, keep it unique. Meets, fine. Anywhere, any time. Set up via the
net. It's our unique tool of the future.

Arch,
We are really getting hit with rain now. Still lots of lightening and
thunder. Kinda scary when my wife came in to inform me of the tornado
warning and the sirens going off, I didn't hear anything. Benefit is, I
won't hear the air compressor run, whether rotary or piston. My wife will
probably have me sleeping over the Onan, but who cares, I won't hear it.
Some blessings, some stumbling blocks. They even out.

Only real problem I have right now is I'm running out of cigs and they are
in my truck parked in the heavy rain. Now that is a real problem.
