I have a couple of radios but was thinking it'd be simpler to just use group texting. Re Glympse -- I'll spin up a DM conversation with you so that we can keep this thread somewhat clean. Our caravan will carry 4 FRS radios spread throughout. If you guys have any, bring em. Always good to use and come in handy when not wanting or unable to use cell phones.
I think it's a great idea! The thing about glympse is that the permission to track needs to be renewed each day, so it'd be up to individuals or caravan leaders to make sure the renewals happen. I don't know if there are any limitations on group size but the notion of being able to see everyone-ish converging on NC (and getting home safely) sure is enticing. Also, for those traveling independently it might be nice to see if anyone else is nearby regardless of whether they're having difficulties.
Lemme do a bit more research on glympse (this will be my first time using it) and get back to you regarding whether it might be worth doing this for all convention attendees rather than just the Nor'easters.
You're correct, arriving Harrisburg, PA Sunday evening and departing Monday morning.
We'll be on your team !Yes, I received the list, thanks! I only reached out to Rich, Alain, and Matthew because they're from the closest locations to our group, and also because I don't want to overwhelm the limited amount of parking at Cracker Barrel or take too much advantage of their goodwill.
Barbara and I typically get going between 8-9AM on travel days. We haven't had our group call yet so I'm not sure how many folks will want to stick closely together versus doing their own thing and meeting up at the end of each day. I don't see any need for everyone to do pit stops at the same time, but yeah I take a break every 3 hours or so. We'll hopefully be able to keep track of everyone via the Glypse app and group text. I'm thinking that as long as we stay loosely together we can help each other out if anyone encounters a problem.
Download the Glympse app, tap Tags, tap Join a Tag, and enter GMCMI. If you're going to the convention GMCMI will be sending out a notice soon with the password that you'll need in order to share your tracking info. And, where do we find this Premium Tag called "GMCMI".?
Hot tip: Use your coach's name as your 'handle' (just like the CB radio days!) and a photo of it as your avatar. I just shared my location for the next 12 hours if you want to see me in the app (Boston area). Thanks!! Gonna try that.
Christo - I don't see you on the map app. Can you see me, Minty77 ? I'm in Virginia. Update: I found you. How do you remove a Tag. I inadvertently named a group of the same name, and I can't figure out how to delete it.Hot tip: Use your coach's name as your 'handle' (just like the CB radio days!) and a photo of it as your avatar. Yes, I can see you and me on the same map (I assume someone from GMCMI shared the password with you). If you're using the mobile app, the map should branded (red border, GMCMI logo at top, Spring convention logo at bottom) if you're in the right place. There's a pulldown at the top of the map where you can select GMCMI as the tag to view.Christo - I don't see you on the map app. Can you see me, Minty77 ? I'm in Virginia.

Yes, the p/w was in an email. I do see the banner at the bottom. Sweet!Yes, I can see you and me on the same map (I assume someone from GMCMI shared the password with you). I haven't found a way to delete an unneeded tag or group from the iOS app. I have reached out to Glympse and will share the response.Christo - I don't see you on the map app. Can you see me, Minty77 ?
