Larry Nelson,
The annuciator light for the air bags is a small 3-connector thermal
relay plugged into a socket under the dash. Mine was staying on all of
the time so I disconnected it. I also disassembled the relay and found
out how it works. There is a bimetal strip wound with "resistance wire"
which causes the lamp circuit to open after a short time.
I have built a solid state version and may be able to install the
circuit in the same "can" as the original...ought to work forever or a
long, long time- whichever comes first. If anyone is interested I might
go into production as I could not find a new replacement locally. Could
probably build them for about $10.
