Hi all I thank all of you for your info that I read and I have learned a lot of things. I'm getting ready to install machnical gauges and was
wondering where the best place for the sending unit for the transmission temp would go or where others have put them?

1978 Transmode
1966 GTO{frame off restor}
Wautoma, Wi (About 35 miles west of Oshkosh, Wi)
Gene Don't Do Facebook
but Ronny does
 
Get one of these. It has a port for a temperature sender.

This device is better than mechanical gages (although my Avion in the USA has both).

OH, BTW, I put the sensor in the front right corner of the pan because that is where the most clearance is. Can't pick just any spot. The sensor
will interfere with the valve body, so look carefully before you drill.

Keep in mind that what is important is to know the temp of the fluid being
pumped into the trans.
Should you want to monitor the out temp, it will be very high when a load
is placed.

Oh Geese John....that was 10 or so years ago that I did that. IIRC the adaptors came with the gauge. I just made what came with it work. Added the
fiber washers and gooed it up with silicon. Also had to saw off the end of the brass piece inside of the pan so the temp probe would be surrounded by
fluid. I could not find a Trans temp gauge that would match what I had and was reasonably priced, so I used a Water Temp gauge. With my new dash, I
have now used a "Oil Temp" gauge that matches the SW gauges I put in. Just what I did.

I like the Ragusa pan and the Digi panel. I have ran both in the past.
Now, with my newer coach I'm running the Ragusa pan. I like it because it is thicker material, and doesn't leak like my stock pan did. Also holds more
tranny fluid.
But, I'm also going to install the Digi panel when I get a chance.

Scott, I have both and glad that I do, although the panel just stopped
working the other day. I'll have to investigate that as it has worked
without fail since installing several years ago.

The DigiPanel is now owned by Jim K as the original builder got out of the business. The schematic may be propriety, but you can ask him if he will release it.

I have a paper copy of the manual (4 pages) in the mail to you. Unfortunately there is no detailed schematic.but it does have the wiring diagram.
It is pretty much the same as on the Digi panel web site.
I hope it's what you need.
