Wow, this topic has really drawn a lot of interest and very good postings.
One thing I usually do if there is any possibility of flexing or vibration is to cover the end of the connection or joint of the wire to terminal with
some semi-flexible shrink tubing. This moves the flex point on down the wire to an area that was not disturbed by the attachment of the terminal to
the wire. Note that I did not differentiate between solder or crimps. It works equally well on both by mechanically reinforcing the weakest point.
