Thanks Paul for passing the message long. Have not been able to look
over all the lists due to getting ready for the Forest City convention.
Jim, I'm very sorry you had an unfavorable experience when talking to
our Administrative Director. I will discuss the issue with him when he
returns from looking over our fall 2000 convention site.
We do have a day to day plan for folks that want to attend for just a
couple of the days. However, it does not include a campsite. It's $15
per day per person and a badge is issued at the gate. It includes all
activities except catered meals, ice cream socials, and entertainment.
Visitor vehicles, including coaches, are locate and parked outside of
the campground area to reduce traffic and parking congestion around
activities.
Based on your needs, it appears we should look into providing this kind
of service. I will add to our Board of Directors agenda for Forest
City. Most of our convention campgrounds charge us a fee per site for
the entire week. So if a coach is only located on the site for two
days, we pay for the entire week. However, over the past several years
we have been to at least one campground I know of that allowed us to
only pay for sties occupied per day. In addition, GMCMI would need to
find a way to prorate expenses based on the day(s) attended due to some
days are with and without catered meals, ice cream socials,
entertainment, etc.
Again Jim, I apologize for your unfavorable experience. Please accept
my personal invitation to attend the Forest City convention. The GMCMI
members are a great group of folks. If you would like to call me, my
home phone number is 715-477-1425.
