Felpro makes a new gasket that is supposed to stop the problem that you are
having. I have rebuilt 455 before and never had a problem. Have to be very
meticulous in cleaning everything and putting it together.

I have about 5000 miles on since doing heads, etc.

No oil leaks for first while but now it is leaking. Not bad, but it's
leaking. Seems it's leaking on the front of the engine and the oil then gets
thrown about by the fan.

Been chasing it today with the UV light, but it (the light) bit the dust, so
stuck until tomorrow.

The rubber seal on the intake gasket is our prime suspect and after talking
to a few folks the consensus seems to be to throw the rubber gaskets away
and use gasket goop instead during install.

Any experiences/thought on the matter?

TIA - Heinz

It was a Felpro gasket kit we used.... and all was squeeky clean :-)
Perhaps it'll end up being elsewhere anyways. Hope to get a replacement UV
light tomorrow and then we'll do some controlled running without fan.

Heinz Felpro has more than one gasket set for engines. The one I am talking
about is a new, I believe neoprene gasket,,not cheap either.

Thanks,
I'll check into it. Any chance you have a Felpro# ?

(Almost any price is better than redoing ;-)
