I read with some interest the praise of Autozone, and in particular the
pricing on the DL7157 100amp alternator. We don't have Autozones in the
wilds of Canada (or Oregon or Washington for that matter). I have been
traveling in California for the past week, so as soon as I crossed the
border from Oregon, I bought a DL7157. Imagine my surprise when the price
was $107 plus $30 core charge whereas Phil Stewart in Tennessee only paid
$74. When I checked this out with the store manager, he informed me that
often there is regional pricing. Now, I bought the alternator but I'm upset
by the regional pricing. Could a couple of you from different regions call
your autozone and check the pricing and post it? Also, Phil, could you
check if the price has changed at your outlet? Seems to me that this is
something to take up with the corporate office if the price does indeed
vary by 33% for an item like an older alternator.
