Are all those rabbets due to existing framing members in the coach? Looks like a giant PITA. Nice work.

I'm kinda looking forward to getting into the interior of mine, but kinda not...If it goes anything like the engine work...I'll have the whole thing gutted!

That seems like it wouldn't have been too bad with a dado blade on the table saw. Either way, nice job sticking it out and getting it done. I'm sure it'll be the last time, since you're sealing it all up.

Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately I only have a medium size table saw on a foldable stand. Since I was working by myself, I just didn't think it would be stable enough for 7 foot boards.

This is the only good picture that I have from this perspective. The vertical piece sits flush against the upper aluminum step part. The wood goes above the aluminum one inch to coincide with the depth of the upper floor wood. The horizontal step piece (the PITA), is cut around various parts of the aluminum, and the thinner part that is 1 inch wide overlaps the lower vertical piece. It will make more sense when I put it all back.

I finally got warm enough weather to spray lizard skin on the firewall and engine compartment. I’m probably going to topcoat everything with something darker and more glossy. New parallel flow condenser is on. I still have to paint the brackets, and I’m going to add threaded inserts because getting a wrench on the back of the bracket is kind of hard. It is centered on the large electric fan.6F0ED7BB-573C-4310-8A72-191A06503FBB.webp
