Ed Lubo sent me a 73 sales leaflet for the GMC motorhome. I just posted
it at:

http://www.gmcmotorhome.com/faq/73brochure.html

Warning - there are some serious size graphics. I probably should have
made them a little smaller, but I wanted to be sure that the ad copy was
legible. The decor, clothing and hair styles are amusing(my how things
have changed), but what I found interesting were the number of
differences between the coach on the cover and the "production"
coaches. A few things I saw:

- mirrors look like aftermarket bolt ons
- engine access covers larger and squared off
- engine access covers have one latch each
- range hood vent is on roof instead of side wall
- generator door vents appear to be rear-facing "scoops"

I'm curious if this was a preproduction prototype that was used for ad
purposes or an early production model. Any GMC historians out there
that can shed some light on this?

Good morning. Slept a little today what a surprise. What do you mean by
sans the end pads? Chuck

Hi. Might think of "Napping" If you can not take a little nap then it might be
worth fixing it- so you can. I have two nice couches in the front. One for me
and one for my bride. It is really nice to be able to stop along the road at a
rest stop, catch 40 winks and get back on the road. I think it is well worth
getting rid of the dining part in the front. Yes! it is sometimes inconvenient
to eat but we have those little fold out tables that fit nicely in the back or
beneath the couches work out really well. Chuck

Looking for the gun cabinet and the two side cabinets at the rear of the coach,
where the goucho seats are. Chuck

The cabinets come sans the end pads but Frank Jenkins in Gainesville, FL
makes the end pads, inclding one for the cabinet by the door (on a 260)
that is hollow, is hinged and has space for valuables, or a defense
weapon. If anyone is interested let me know and I will forward contact
info.

Let's give Frank a free plug. He can be reached at 18214 NE21st Street,
Gainesville,FL 32609-4238 Tel:352/485-1397

In addition to the cabinet bumpers he also makes new Grills with the egg
crate centers, two piece fender skirts, and a really neat back bumper
box, identical to what Elam Fayard had on the back of his coach.

Frankwill send you a price list. If you call him on the phone ask him to
speak English and tell him I said so.

Golly.......I hate to miss this opportunity but that isn't what was said.
Frank Jenkins makes the cushion end caps, pads, whateve. The ones that
prevent you from banging your head on the end of the cabinet.

However, for louvered doors that you can install on your own cabinets or
complete cabinets, contact Alex Sirum GMC. He has a huge warehouse full
of such stuff. My recomendation would be to move the back cabinets
forward and have two new LARGER cabinets made for the back. That what I
had Sirum do for me.

BTW, you may not like to hear this but I covered all my louvers with a
Formica insert to modernize the coach.!

Do I still get the kiss?

re End Pads: I bought one and put in the coach cabinet by the exit door.
Nice work and it was easy to put in. Wife likes it because she can put some
of her jewelry there when we travel.

That's exactly what I'd do! Those are the worst looking cabinet faces I
ever saw!
