I simply do not:
(a) use it enough to justify keeping it
(b) have enough time to do (a)

I love it, as I do all other technically unique cars &
trucks, but I know someone else out there could enjoy
it more. I had planned on fixin' her up nice &
pretty, etc, but Uncle Sam is sending me away for the
summer, and I don't want to deny my 260 her time on
the road.

1973 GMC 260, originally a Sequoia, but repainted &
customized sometime in the 80s, judging by the brown
carpet and three-tone brown/gold/beige paint scheme.
Oak cabinets overhead up front. Couch/double bed on
passenger side. Two swivel chairs & table on driver
side. Range/oven has oven overhead with a stovetop.
Below that are drawers. Sink, of course. Refrigerator
is gas/12v/120v 3-way. Standard side bath &
closet/drawer section over rear wheels. Side facing
"setee"s that fold over to make a double bed.

Original Olds 455. Stickers are still on the valve
covers. I has a LPG conversion where you can drive on
propane if you want. HUGE propane tank. Newer water
tank.
53k miles
Engine is a dream.
Excellent brakes - I am still amazed at how quickly I
could bring it down.
Two brand new shocks for the front and two for the
rear, still in the boxes. I broke front right shock
last year in Cass County, NE, and it bent the lower
mount on the right side, but it is still very solid,
and I was about to have a welder take a look to put it
back at the correct angle. Steering still tracks true.
3 brand new batteries - fires up right away & purrs so
smoothly.
Nearly new tires are 8.75x16.5 Load Range D, on
standard OEM wheels.
Left exhaust pipe just aft of the ThermaSan injector
has a hole in it, so it's probably time for a new
exhaust.

or drive by & take a look - it's in my driveway.

Not really. The lady from whom I bought my coach
(TZE063V101152)
Irene Ladd
RR1 Box 39
Ames NE 68621
sold it to me a few years after she claims her husband
died, and didn't know anything about it--she had no
paperwork, only a GMC Service Manual.

As far as I can tell, based on insurance cards & a NE
Form 6 (bill of sale) I found in the coach, the owners
are/were:
Aug 1998 - present: David M. Hilsdorf (me)
May 1991 - Aug 1998: Irene E. Ladd
unknown - May 1991: Patrick W. Antrim & Leah E.
Leonard

Interestingly, the NE Form 6 show Irene as the sole
purchaser--no mention of her husband. Sale price in
1991 was "$1000 - even trade". Doesn't say what was
traded, but obviously done to reduce sales tax,
titling, & registration fees (NE charges 5% of
vehicles value every year).

Also in the coach were a few brochures from parks in
Kansas:
Council Grove Lake Park in Council Grove at the
intersection of Hwys 56 & 177, about 30 miles NW of
Emporia KS (brochure courtesy of Farmers & Drovers
Bank);
Glen Elder Reservoir & Wildlife Area in Glen Elder
State Park in Glen Elder KS dated June 1984.

Also found was flyer from Lake Georgetown, where
someone stayed at Cedar Breaks Park. Lake Georgetown
also had a Jim Hogg Park and Russel Park, all of which
were right on Lake Georgetown. The flyer was produced
by the Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District.
The map shows it to be at the intersection of a road
numbered "2338" and "F. M. 3405". To the north would
be a town of Andice. To the south would be
Georgetown. I have no idea where this is.

She also had an upgrade done. I have 1994
instructions & a diagram for a "Power Level to Electro
Level 1" upgrade kit from Gateway Motorhome Company
(http://www.gsc1.com/gateway/).

Any further info anyone else has would be nice to
know.
