Hi Everyone

For the past year I've been a lurker. My wife Janet and I bought our '74
Sequoia one year ago. I thought we could get it up to my reliability
standards in two months until I discovered this site. One year later it is
still in our driveway being fiddled with. It has become a lovable
obsession. It has pushed us into retirement by the the end of this year
and nudged us into building our dream workshop garage. Can't wait to hit
the open road and meeting up with many of you.

I was perusing my Surplus Center catalog when I noticed a cab heater for
$59.95, 12VDC, 3 speed blower, 5"x19" heater core, inlet valve for temp
control... I thought of mounting this unit under the dining seat,
diverting the engine coolant lines to the water heater and connecting the
lines to the cab heater. I would fabricate a two way duct to either direct
the air flow to the MH for additional cold weather heating or outside for
additional engine cooling. Is this feasable or am I just spitting into the
wind? Thanx.

Coincidentally I'm from upstate NY therefore the interest in the Add-on
Heater. I would still like to know if it would lower engine temperature if
vented outside the MH. The Surplus Center Catalog has great goodies. I
would suggest it for everybody for those oddball parts from 3-way ball
valves, fans, pumps, compressors, heaters hydraulics, etc. Surplus

Bob - since the heater core is essentially an air/liquid heat
exchanger it would take some heat away from the engine coolant but it
is very small in comparison to the engine radiator. If you have some
overheating problems I'd suggest there might be some things you can
do to the engine cooling system to keep it working properly. When in
good working condition it should be more than sufficient to keep your
engine cool enough.
