WS Wipers

Periodically, for no apparent reason, my Windshield Wipers make one
"swipe" and stops.

I usually push down on the wiper lever and continue on. Sooner or later
it will repeat once again.

Any thoughts on WHY????

Have you clean the fluid filter on the outlet of the WW motor? You
might find that your powersteer might work better also.

Check that the cable that connects the switch to the motor is secured. There
is some adjustment in the cable. It may just be stretched or has moved.

The "ghost" swipe usually occurs more frequently when the left front corner
is pointed generally towards the sun, right.

As to why the wipers are hydraulically powered, as apposed to electrical.
The valve is allowing pressure to slowly build up in the "motor" until there
is enough pressure to make one cycle. Increased temperature also helps.

The Control lever is slightly out of adjustment. To solve the problem you
simply need to adjust the placement of the control wire/cable. It is a
fairly simple task, however a bit of trial and error is required, to get the
exact adjustment.

to increase speed.
