Wiper Order

Here's an update, for anyone who might be interested: I've now got wiper
hardware kits available after having shipped all, except one, of those for
which I've been paid, for a total of about 30. I'm out of electrical kits
until 29 October, when I'll pick up more (hopefully enough for everyone on
the waiting list). The complete waiting list for over 60 kits should be
cleared by 2 November.

I've just had to announce that I'll no longer be able to supply the
electrical connector pigtails for the motor; my junkyard sources are all
completely depleted. I HAVE found that Dorman 645-692 is correct for the
'90-'96 Lumina APV, '94-'04 Chevy S10 (&S15), and most 90's GM pickups and
SUV's. Prices for those new vary widely from ridiculous to absurd, so
junkyard visits are very worthwhile.

I'll still have a few hardware and, if necessary electrical, kits available
after satisfying all those on the waiting list. So, if you want one, it's
not too late to order from me.

It is possible that someone else will assume the wipers manufacturing and
distribution when I'm done.

I must have missed something Ken, are you getting out of the wiper market?

Hal,

Yep, I announced back in July or so that the current production run (which
has turned out to be a SLOW one) will be my last. I'd expected it to
consist of about 60 kits, but the material available supported 92, so the
60+ immediate orders left a few available. I'm just too old to continue
fooling with them -- don't need the hassle. Time to move aside and let
someone else take over, if they like. Still negotiating with one possible
successor.

Keep up your great work. & Stay safe out there! Hope we'll get to see
Y'All sooner rather than later.

My kit arrived yesterday, requiring a run to the junkyard Monday for a motor. Hopeful;ly someone of our younger members will get in touch with Ken
and pick up the design.

Does anybody know, are there any other GM products using the hydraulic wiper system, or is it common only to the motorhome? If there are more it
might broaden the market a bit.

There were some electric Motorhome steps that used an electric wiper motor. Other than that I can’t think of anything.

Johnny,

I've forgotten now whether it was early Thunderbirds or Lincolns that used
the same hydraulic wiper motor -- they probably didn't have room for my
electric motor mount. I've never heard from anyone with one of those,
which is sort of surprising because I could have put them in touch with
customers with possibly usable motors. But I have sold a few ( My kit arrived yesterday, requiring a run to the junkyard Monday for a

Hal,

I do have a few left. Send me a private email telling me what parts of it
you want: Hardware, Electrical, Pigtail (which I hope you'll get with a
motor at a junkyard).

It looks like you don't accept PM's here.
I guess everything but the pigtail/motor. This is for the future, not sure if it will be used in the new build but my daughters coach can use it if I
don't. Let me know on the payment, etc.
We're just heading out the door so will get back with you in a day or so.
Thanks, Hal
