The Spectrum is still alive, being reincarnated by Special Interest Vehicles
(http://www.special-interest-veh.com). They are replacing the engine with a
Ford Triton V-10.

You should see the beautiful and graphical paint jobs they are getting.

HI,
Great postings on the GMC Brochures. I believe the correct name for the
Spector was Winnebago Spectrum 2000.I saw those models when they first were
produced at Forest City. We were there in 1988 or1989 and felt at home with
our Birchaven due to the presence of the then Advanced Rear engined
Spectrum. It looked just like a GMC except for the rear engine cooling
vents. Our GMC was painted Silver and Charcol Silver, while parked in the
Visitor Center many approached us thinking ours was a '23 foot mini
version. Spectrum was 32 foot. Winnebago lost interest in this Ford 460ci
rear engined GMC lookalike recalled all produced . They were later sold by I
think LazyDaze RV, only about 96 were produced, they were done in by Cooling
and Brake problems. I may even have a Brochure someplace.
Mark '77 Palm Beach LINY once had '77 Birchaven

Paul,
I still have a copy of the brochure that Lazydaze sent out if anyone is
really
interested. It was a fascinating piece of equipment.
