It turns out that Hehr is located not far from me. In Chesaning, MI. Their
website is
http://three.tbojobs.com/hehrinternational/nsPS01.htm
They don't seem to sell anything on the web.
So I'll see what I can come up with.
I found this in the archieves:

>Subject: GMC: Replacement window balances.

>If you have the door and/or kitchen windows that slide up to open you might
>have a problem with the spring mechanism (window balance) that is in the top
>channel with a string down to the bottom glass sash. These have plastic
>pulleys. One of mine broke about 6 years ago and the other broke last fall.
>I tried to get replacements but none of the GMC parts people (Cinnibar,
>Gateway, etc.) seemed to be able to get this part. I recently saw the same
>part on a $350,000 Foretravel door window and so I called Hehr and sent them a
>page from the GMC parts service book. They identified the part and it is
>currently available.
>If you need a replacement they are $12.50 each plus shipping.
I couldn't find any reference in the archives for a better deal. Maybe someone
else
will remember.
Thanks for the info.
